Coming from a Russian-Ghanaian background, Yekaterina (Yeka) has used photography since she was a young girl as a means of freezing time and capturing life moments. She is a Brooklyn-based photographer working in portraiture and documentary photography, with a special interest in fashion and editorial work. She holds a BFA in photography from Pace University and has worked in various fields such as design, studio management, production, and fine art print. Today, Yekaterina works as a freelance photographer with extensive experience in portraiture, lifestyle, branding, and events. Her intention with imagery is to tell a story that allows viewers to step into the moment.

Yekaterina believes in the exchange between subject and photographer. Her work is careful, sensitive, and informed, capturing moments that are soft, intimate, and elegant. Coming from an art background, her goal is to incorporate an artistic outlook into commercial photography and editorial campaigns. She describes her photography as a lifelong photo album that never stops developing, each image is an exchange, where Yekaterina gives a piece of herself to capture something unique in her own perspective. It is important for her to build spaces that are inclusive and diverse.
